Cleaning Up

So with the house payments being take out of my bank account it is time to start the fun... right?

Nope, first the house needs to be fixed to a 'normal' state.  Inside there were a few fixes to holes in the walls and rotten wood in a door casing but nothing too bad.  The vines that were eating the house had taken over with small cemented pads (picture of the vine pads are below).  After some research I found out the vine is called the Virginia Creeper, it turns red in the fall and has posionous berries... how nice.  The crazy vines were taken down from the walls, the roof, and under the siding.  The cleaning of the vines is a story of legend in my neighborhood: my parents cleaned for hours trying to remove the cement pads with a pressure washer and metal scrappers... Did I mention *I am a very luck girl*!

Once the house was fixed the next step was the most difficult part, making my vision come to life.  I took time off work and  flew to Florida bringing my credit card with me. There were paint colors to decide, appliances to purchase, and several other purchases to make the house I just bought into my home, #2272

Introductions

I present... My First House... #2272!

This picture is one of the first views I had of my house.  I work for the Air Force and was in the process of moving from Delaware to Florida while purchasing my house.  Luckily my parents live in the area and discovered the house through a friend of a friend that lives in the neighborhood. *I am one Very lucky girl!*  It was banked owned and not in the best of shape but it is a perfect first house for me.

As with most bank owned houses the previous owners left the house in a... unique way. A child's artwork decorated walls and floors, no appliances, no shower hardware, missing light bulbs, plants eating the house exterior, and finally that unknown stale smell that lingers.  This blank canvas is where the creativity kicks in with furniture placement, color ideas, backyard oasis landscaping, and a few modifications. All to be completed during my Weekend Quests Of #2272
